Memorial Garden

1. A Memorial Garden will be established in the Common Area at the top of Charles Pearre Circle in honor of deceased members of the community. The Memorial Garden will have a minimum footprint and will be regarded as a quiet place for respect and reflection. The location of the Memorial Garden may be changed in the future by a majority vote of the Board.
2. Maintenance of the Memorial Garden will be the responsibility of the Association. However, the Board may appoint a committee to be responsible for and oversee the maintenance of the Memorial Garden. Maintenance may also be provided by residents or community groups, on a volunteer basis.
3. Homeowners wishing to purchase a marker for placement in the Memorial Garden must submit an application. 
4. Payment in the amount of $80 must be submitted along with the application. Payment must be in the form of a check or money order, payable to Westridge Swim and Racquet Club.
5. Applications must be signed by a homeowner in good standing and should be submitted to the Association at 127643 Quarterhorse Lane, Woodbridge, Virginia 22192. 6. The honoree must be a prior Westridge resident.
7. Applications will be subject to approval by the Board. The Board may, by majority vote, delegate approval authority to a committee or to the Managing Agent.
8. Only Board approved markers may be placed in the Memorial Garden. Text is limited to no more than 3 lines. No graphics are permitted.
9. Small potted plants may be placed next to the marker without approval. Dead plant material will be removed.
10. Holiday decorations may be placed next to the marker 15 days before a holiday and must be removed no later than 15 days after the holiday. Any decorations not removed, will be disposed of by Management.
11.The Association assumes no responsibility for theft or vandalism of the markers.
12.The Association reserves the right to remove any decorations deemed inappropriate or inconsistent with this policy.
 
Application for Memorial Garden Marker
 
Pet Memorial Garden
 
1. The area below the tennis courts and above the first wall will be designated as the Pet Memorial Garden. The boundary will be delineated by markers. The location of the Memorial Garden may be changed in the future by a majority vote of the Board.
2. Maintenance of the Pet Memorial Garden will be the responsibility of the Association. However, the Board may appoint a committee to be responsible for and oversee the maintenance of the Pet Memorial Garden. Maintenance may also be provided by residents or community groups, on a volunteer basis.
3. Hand-painted stones or small markers no larger than 8” x 4” may be placed in this area to memorialize a Westridge family pet.
4. Application is not required. This garden is on the honor system.
5. The Association reserves the right to remove any stones or markers that it deems to be inappropriate.
6. Holiday decorations and plants are not permitted.
7. The Association assumes no responsibility for theft or vandalism of the markers
